It All Starts With Him (12)

In the book of Hebrews, we find:
‘God spoke often and in many ways to the fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son…‘ Hebrews 1:1 ACF Online Bible
So God spoke to us through His Son.
And we see His various teachings throughout the Gospels, in the book of the Acts of the Apostles and also in Revelation.
Jesus Himself says:
‘Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me…” John 14:6 ACF Online Bible
So we can trust Him.
When we read His words, and the way He spoke to people, we can feel fear, apprehension and even not understand His way of communicating. You see, even the disciples He chose needed to learn…
Jesus was living on earth with us in the flesh ‘that is, in physical form, as a human being’….
‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.’ John 1:1-5 ACF Online Bible
…….
‘There was the true light, which enlightens every man who comes into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own did not receive him. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, as the glory of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.’ John 1:9-14 ACF Online Bible
….and did everything The Father wanted Him to do. As it is written:
‘I have glorified you on earth, having finished the work that you gave me to do.’ John 17:4 ACF Online Bible
Jesus spoke and acted with people the way He needed to – individually, but also to large groups of people who followed Him – the scribes, the Pharisees, His disciples…
So, when we read what He said, we need to consider this, so that we don’t take some of His words in a way that He doesn’t want us to interpret – because He came to save, not to condemn…
In Hebrews, we read:
‘Moreover, we had our fathers according to the flesh to correct us, and we revered them; shall we not be much more subject to the Father of spirits, that we may live?’ Hebrews 12:9 ACF Online Bible
When we are children, we need to honor our parents – respecting, receiving and practicing what they can teach us – to the best of their abilities.
When the time comes to take responsibility for our own lives, we will learn in the broadest and most serious way what we have been taught, and we will need to go beyond these teachings, making adjustments, learning more, or in a different way.
Our parents always give us what they can, to the extent of their understanding and abilities, and The Lord never forsakes His own – we just need to believe that He, who holds Wisdom in Excellence, knows what is best for us and wants us to learn from Him.
We can trust Jesus….
‘And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.’ Matthew 28:18-20 ACF Online Bible
